The fall Work Readiness courses began at both Sonoma Valley and Creekside High Schools on September 26th with record numbers. The current total enrollment is 58, with 47 at SVHS and 11 at Creekside. Students will be learning what makes a good employee; exploring their personal strengths and creating their resumes; learning about business standards, the hiring process and where and how to get a job; money management; and preparing for an interview.
Graduation will take place on October 25th, 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Vintage House. Hope you can join us.
Thanks to Joelle Smith and her friends in SHENOMA, every teen enrolled in our Ready to Work course is prepared for a job interview AND looks the part. Joelle seeks clothing donations that are clean, in season, lightly worn and interview appropriate. She makes sure they are clean, ironed, and ready to go and then places them on racks in a Pop-up Boutique for teens to find just the right outfit to add that extra little bit of confidence for the interview.
All appropriate donations are welcome – in particular:
Girls - sizes 10 and up in dresses, blouses, pants, skirts
Boys - khaki pants (all sizes), ties
This fall we have a record number of enrollees and more clothes are needed ASAP! So, take a look in your closets and think job interview.... Clothes can be dropped off at Teen Services between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday – 17440 Sonoma Highway, in the Springs.
