Adrian Palenchar, Operation Bicycle Manager
Adrian was born and raised in Glen Ellen, graduated from Sonoma Valley High School in 1999, and received a B.A. in journalism from California State University Chico in 2003. He lived in New York, San Francisco and Cusco, Peru, before moving back to Sonoma in 2011. During that time, he held numerous jobs, including sports writer and middle school teacher before combining his passion for youth education with bicycling. In early 2012, Adrian volunteered to revamp Teen Services Sonoma’s earn-a-bike program, renaming it Operation Bicycle and expanding its reach and hours. He was hired to coordinate the program later that year. Adrian also works as an educator for the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition, teaching bike and pedestrian safety to kids all over the county.
Simon Cutler, Lead Bike Mechanic
Simon Cutler was born in Oakland and moved to Sonoma as a kid. He got his start as an Operation Bicycle volunteer in 2015, and was initially hired to do valet bike parking at the Tuesday Night Farmers Market. A short time later, he began working events for the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition. He graduated from Soloquest School in 2016, and attended United Bicycle Institute that summer, where he was certified in professional repair and shop operation. He has attended Santa Rosa Junior College since 2016, with a current focus on machine tool technology and fabrication. He moonlights as a car mechanic and dreams of creating a maker space.

Joelynn has worked with children most of her life – as a mother, mentor and childcare provider. She has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for many years in addition to volunteering as a Girl Scout troop leader of older girls in Sonoma Valley for four years.
